"Greed and fear of loss are the roots that lead to the tree of evil."
Recently, the weather and climate of the USA and the world have been at all time extremes. Wildfires are continuing to rage, more tropical storms are becoming hurricanes, and the expected weather changes for fall and winter predict a rise of both flu and covid cases. While we all (hopefully) know that climate change is playing a larger part in all these disasters, knowing more about what is being done to combat climate change will help alleviate some worries. Also, continuing to raise awareness on climate change helps the fight against it...

1. Green Cement Company: Surprisingly, cement is used more than any other material on the earth other than water, and is the main ingredient in concrete, which is used in buildings and structures all over the world. For every ton of cement produced, a ton of CO2 is released in the atmosphere, and with over 4 billion tonnes of cement being produced each year, having a more green way of making cement could greatly reduce CO2 emissions.
2. The Green New Deal: The House Resolution (H. Res 109) is a plan to directly address climate change while also addressing a lot of the inequalities that are occurring and have occurred in the US. The document is a quick 14-page read, so I recommend you read it, but you can also watch a video summary of it as well.

3. Weather: One of the ways we can protect ourselves from the consequences of climate change are the weather services, specifically the National Weather Service, which is public service, and also provides a lot of the data to private weather services. Knowing ahead of time when significant weather events are happening have saved lives, and will continue to save lives as long is remains in serving the public.
